The History of Success by Design
Planners, agendas, calendars, notebooks, schedules… no matter what it is called, Success by Design knows that it is the skill of organizing that helps many students learn.
That is why we are proud to announce that the upcoming 2009-2010 school year will mark Success by Design’s 21st year of helping students and teachers stay organized! From its beginning, our goal has been to assist teachers and students in developing the valuable skill of scheduling and organizing. The original “Assignment Notebook” (the ANS) was created in 1988 by a former educator in Illinois. This unique and clutter-free planner became popular with many schools in the area, and Success by Design was born!
Since that time, Success by Design has been proud to be a leader in the development of this important educational tool. We now offer over 32 uniquely formatted planners for all school types: elementary, middle, high, and parochial. We offer various sizes and page layouts. These include the page-per-day and weekly spreads, both dated and undated. Interactive samples are available on our website, where each page of the planner is shown. Customization of these planners is also available through Success by Design. Your school’s logo, handbook, or even events can be added to one of our planners. See the “customize” button on our website for more information. Success by Design also pioneered the 28” x 40” dry-erase Homework MasterBoard wall charts that are identical to the layout of the student planners. This gives the teacher the ability to exemplify and reinforce the planning process.
This past year, Success by Design was proud to present a new planner! “The Green Planner” was designed to support environmental concerns. Because we feel that the environment is fragile, we created this planner of solely recyclable materials. Inside there are informative “green” facts, creative “green” activities, and inspiring “green” quotes. It is our hope that this planner will not only be our step in helping the environment, but that it may encourage you to join us in “going green!”
In the creation of these valuable planning tools, Success by Design is most proud to state that our products are 100% made in the United States of America.
